In vitro hemolytic property of substituted phenothiazines

In vitro hemolytic property of four commonly used substituted phenothiazine derivatives were studied on rabbit«SQ»s washed erythrocytes, in isotonic saline. substitution of SCH2 group in place of H in position 2 of the phenothiazine ring, markedly increased the hemolytic activity, when compared with CF3 or Cl- substitution in the same position. Hemolytic property of these compounds also increased with the increase of incubation time and temperature.
